About Me
Hi there! š
Welcome to my blog! I am the creator of Sakuryo, and Iām a learner of Japanese, maybe, just like you.
Who Am I?
In addition to my language learning journey, I am also a full stack web software developer with over 7 years of experience creating web applications.
My Japanese Ability
Since I have stated that this web app will be used to specifically help me learn Japanese I think it is best to show where I am in my Japanese learning progress.
- Currently I have passed The JLPT at the N2 Level… back in 2017. My scores were all Bs with the exception of having full points in listening.
- I passed the N2 level in 2022, as well, just to see how much I forgot and, yes I forgot a bit. My scores were noticeably lower.
If I were to give a quick guess at my level of different skills and how far off they are from my ideal It would look something like this radar chart.
Skill | Score | Reason |
---|---|---|
Kanji | 2 | I have spent the least amount of my study time with Kanji, I can read enough to pass N2 but my writing skills are very lacking |
Vocab | 3 | I have been told by many Japanese teachers that I have much room for improvemnt here and i think it shows. |
Listening | 8 | I can usually undersand most eveything I hear as long as I know the words, even old men and grandmas lol |
Speaking | 5 | I have confidence in speaking but also am a beliver that as your other skills improve so will your speaking. |
Grammar | 8 | I rarely come across a grammar point I feel i have never encounted before. I might be more N1 level here. |
Pronunciation | 9 | I have been told many times that my pronunciation including pitch accent is on point. |
Reading | 4 | I dont read often and struggle to the point i still can read most books. |
